Grand Gulch Mine adventures

Brian and Phelele went on a flying adventure to this old copper mine out in the middle of no where. They met Brian's brother Merlon there. Brian really enjoys flying and a taking his kids along with him. Phelele took the picture above. She thought the mountains looked cool. Somewhere out in the Arizona desert.

They came across these old dump trucks that got left out there. They are kind of cool looking. Brian posing with one of the trucks.

Phelele sitting in one of the dump trucks.

Here is one of the many old buildings they came across on there little hike they took while they were there.

Here is another one. Brian and Phelele took lots of pictures on there adventure. So many I while have to post some more of them later.

Brian has really been enjoying being a pilot. The kids love it too. Me on the other hand don't really like it much. I am not a big fan of heights. But I will admit it is pretty up there.

Brian and Cheya just went on an adventure today (Sunday Dec. 5th). There will be pictures to come in the near future.

Brian, Kasen, and I went on an adventure a few weeks ago to Lake Powell and Page for lunch. I took plenty of pictures of that too. They too will be posted in the near future.

Brian and Kendal took the very first adventure to Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Hilarious songs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXkSEcCwU8A

This is a good laugh. We don't celebrate Christmas any more. So we have fun listening to silly Christmas song renditions. Sorry if it offends any one. You got to have a good laugh sometime or another.

Twas the night

Twas The Night Before Jesus Came'

'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

I didn't write this poem. Brian came across it somewhere and I thought maybe I would share it on here.

Now

Now that I have a camera again there while be more pictures for all to see.

Thanks Ann and Jenna for the camera. We really enjoy having the camera and taking pictures again. It takes great pictures too. Better than our old camera.

Thanks again!!

Pictures of Kasen

Kasen Wyatt around 2 to 4 weeks old in these pictures. He has grown quite a bit since the day he came into the world. Brian says he has probably doubled in weight. I think he maybe right about that. He is a good little eater.

Don't babies look so cute when they are sleeping. I couldn't resist taking this picture of him. So peaceful and innocent.

Rare picture this one is. You rarely get a picture of him a wake. Now if I can just get a picture of him smiling. Yes believe it or not he does smile every now and then. No its not gas. I don't believe that one bit.
He got to go on his very first adventure about 2 weeks ago to Lake Havasu, Arizona.  He also got to spend the night in a Super 8 Motel for the first time too. He did really well on this trip. He sure would let me know when he was hungry though.
We all went to Lake Havasu. I was in my truck while Brian was driving another truck (taking it back to its owner), at one point I had to flash my lights at Brian to have him pull over, because Kasen got into screaming for food. It of course was a fast trip down and back, actually the trip down took forever to get there. With all the stops Brian had to make and the stops we made to feed ourselves and the baby and of course to go to the bathroom.

It was great weather down there. It was a little cold here when we left and it was like 80 degrees down in Havasu. It was nice. I think I would rather be down there in the winter time. No snow or cold weather. I can handle that.

Sky is not the limit

Brian passed his private pilot check ride today.  He is now an official FAA endorsed, sanctified, homogenized, somewhat puffed up.....pilot. His ETA back to planet earth should be sometime next week when the weather clears up and he can actually go fly as an official private pilot.

In other news, little Kasen is growing, Phelele is learning how to play the piano, Hillary is doing home school, and every other imaginable task that moms do.  The wiener dog is still trying to kill off the chicken herd by manual strangulation.   She needs a new home, any takers?

Business has slowed way down.  Hope all is well for the rest of you out there.

BABY!!!!

Kasen Wyatt Johnson     12:35 AM  (no surprise there!!!)  7 lbs 5 oz    20 inches long.   Gob loads of blonde hair.   Going to have a hard time telling the three boys apart when they get older.  Hillary and baby doing fine.  Elizabeth Camp delivered him in St. George at her home.

Congratulations Hillary, you are truly an angel sent to me.  Bringing all these wonderful spirits into this evil world to brighten it up a bit.

It is brave what mothers do to have these little babies.  They truly hold hands with death to bring life into the world.  There is no task greater than this.

John 15:13

I consider it a privilage to be your companion.

Not yet!!!

We are about 41 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Doesn't this just sound like fun. I am about 4 days over due with this little darling.  I am hoping it will make its appearance soon. My midwife told me the other day that I am probably not mentally ready. I have never heard that before. So I have been trying my best to not think about it so much. It is not easy. Especially when you get phone calls wondering if you have had the baby yet. I have had a few calls in the last week or so. It does get a little discouraging to say "no baby yet." I suppose the time will come.

Here is another update for you all....... Brian is in Las Vegas right now taking his FAA test. He has been studying hard a lot lately. He is positive he will do good on it. I will post more on that later. After he takes this test he has only one more thing to do and then he is all done and will be a Pilot. He thinks he will be completely done by the 1st or 2nd weekend in October. He is so excited about having this done and over with. He has accomplished something he never thought he would ever do in a million years. He never ever thought he would be a pilot with his own plane.

Any one want to go for a fly? I have been in it once and that was enough for me. I am not one with heights.

In another post we should be able to post about our little one and about Brian becoming a Pilot.

Not very much excitement for us, but oh well.

How soon

How soon is to soon? It can't be soon enough in my condition. I am doing alright. It hasn't been all that bad of a pregnancy or the last few weeks either. I am hanging in there for just a little while longer. We are expecting this little one to show up any day now. It will be exciting to see when and what the sex is of the baby.

The baby has been moving a lot lately and Brian says it is because it wants out. I just tell him that it is all up to the baby. When it is ready it will make its appearance. Unless we decide to help it out and have me started, but we will just wait and see. The Braxton Hicks contractions have been a little strong and frequent lately. That is a sign that things are getting ready to happen soon (hopefully).

Brian said he is 99% sure that it is another boy. So we will wait and see if he is correct again. He does get a lot of dreams about things and they do usually come true.

We will post when the little one arrives. There may not be any pictures as we do not have a working digital camera anymore. Unless someone  has an extra they wouldn't mind parting with for a short time. We will be in St. George at the midwives house having the little one. As long as we can make it there in time. Hopefully we do.

How much longer?

Well, we don't have much longer til the little one arrives. We maybe have about 6 to 7 weeks left. Then we will all know if it is a Kelsie Akela or a Kasen Wyatt. Don't worry it will be posted soon after the arrival.

Tell me what you think it is going to be. Anyone can answer. I am interested in what you all think.

Is it a girl or a boy?

What do you think about the names? I would love to see your answers. If there is anyone that you know that doesn't have this blog address that is in the family or friend that we know give it to them.

What the he!!

I'm sorry but this is just wrong. I heard this story on the news today and I would be extremely pissed off.

A lady went in to the doctor's and they came to her and said that she had Breast cancer. So they decided to do a double mastectomy on her. After all this was said and done, they came to find out that she actually did not have breast cancer at all. Her test results were benign. Now she will probably be filing a law suit against these doctors for giving her the wrong results. She now has to live the rest of her life with no boobs. I guess she could go get a boob job but she will always know that they aren't hers.

I mean seriously how would you feel if the doctor came in to you and said this very thing. How would you feel if you went through the surgery and then find out that they gave you the wrong test results. That you are absolutely fine.

I would be furious with them. I would probably also swear at them to maybe make my self feel a little better. But that wouldn't solve very much at all know would it.

not much going on

It has been a while since the last update. Not much has happened since then though. Lets see if I can remember everything. I have severe pregnancy brain or as my old neighbor called it placenta brain. It is very true with me at this point of pregnancy..... well here it goes...

April....

I turned 31.

Finally saw my midwife and everything is all good. Still not sure of  due date but it is right around the first to middle of September. We would know this due date but I lost my calendar I was keeping track of things in. I was roughly about 18 weeks when I saw her. I haven't seen her since.

Sold our big monster suburban.

May....

Mothers day, I got a kitchen aid mixer. I love that thing, it is one of the best things to have in a kitchen.

Cheya turned 7 yrs. old.

Brian soloed on the same day as Cheyas b-day.

School is over with for the summer. YYEEAAHH!!!!

Lost a very special loved one. We will miss you grandma.

Brians plane broke down. It was broke down for 2 weeks. He is happy that he has it back up and flying again. He flies as much as possible.

Brian got called back to work. After a month and a half of no work in St. George. He has been working there again for the last few weeks. This is his first full week.

We are in the search of a running Pontiac Montana van or Chevy Venture. We have been but it needs lots of work and time. Brian would rather find a running one for me. Its not fun being without a vehicle especially since he is gone to St. George most of the time now. Let us know if you know of a vehicle like this for sale for a reasonable price and in good condition.

June....

found out that my Dad lost his job. Now mom and dad are moving to Idaho next month.

Niece is hanging out with us for a while. She is enjoying her self too.

Sorry there isn't much to be said. We don't really ever get out much, especially now that we don't have a big vehicle to haul us all in any more. Sorry that there still isn't any pictures on this post. Hopefully soon though. I am sure you are all wanting to see some updated pictures of kids. There maybe none of me sorry.

Have a great summer!!!!!

Flying

As some of you know Brian has been taking flying lessons. He has gone by himself 2 times now and getting better at it. And he is also really enjoying it a lot too.

Sunday the kids finally got there opportunity to go flying with Brian's instructor to earn there Young Eagles Certificate. It was the 3 older kids only that can earn and go. They all really enjoyed it a lot and they didn't get sick either which was great. I even went up. It was pretty flying over the mountains and getting a up close look at them. I was a little nervous at times but did all right. No I didn't get sick either. I took our video camera with me in the plane and videoed for a short time. I would post it but it would take for ever to load it and a long time to watch it. Especially since we videoed each of the kids that got to go.

Maybe one day we can afford a new camera to post pictures again. Flying really isn't all that bad. It is a little different in a little plane like that though.

1 Birthday and another great thing

Happy 7th Birthday Cheya! I can't believe that she is 7 already. Where have the years gone to. Let me tell ya a she is a great little girl. She is smart, happy, and a great help with lots of things. She hardly ever gets into trouble either.

So there is that birthday shout out for her.

Now you are probably wondering about the other great thing aren't ya. It may not be great to some of you but to my husband and us it is a great thing. He is super happy about it too. So today we will celebrate a birthday and this super great thing. Did I forget to mention what the super great thing is. Boy where is my mind these days.

Well are you ready to hear it now. Here it goes... Brian soloed in his plane today. Like I said before he is super happy and excited to meet this accomplishment.

Brian I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. I love seeing the happiness and glow that you have about you since you started your lessons. This is truly a great thing. I can't wait till you get your license and you can fly any time you want too.

Great job babe! Keep up all the hard work and fun.

those awful updates

Hi Hillary.....Brian here.....I'll tell you about some updates.....2 weeks ago I almost wiped out my airplane learning to land at Colorado City.....Note to self...don't take the flaps up when your altitude and airspeed are below 60 MPH.  So after that hair raiser, I almost tore the wings off it while descending from 9000 feet into Kanab at 135 MPH......Note to self....the plane can only safely handle smooth air at speeds above 110 MPH.  Then while taking off and landing in a 30 MPH cross wind at Kanab I almost flipped the plane upside down because I failed to put right aileron into the wind and whoooopppp, over we went on our side at 75 mph 50 feet off the ground.  Note to self.....right aileron into the wind when taking off and taxiing on the ground.  But don't worry I think I have it all figured out.  My instructor has lots of experience, he has wrinkled two planes and had to make several emergency landings, one of which was in the Virgin River Gorge, when he inadvertantly forgot to stop in mesquite and get fuel.  Looking forward to taking you for a spin when I get all licensed.  Happy mothers day.  Your the greatest.

Updates?????

Updates? What are those.

Oh there will be updates soon though. I promise there will be. I just need to find a little more time to get to them.

Have a nice day.

Today... hhmm what's today

It has been a little while since I myself has posted anything on here. Sorry for that.

Today is a special day for a certain person in our house. That person has turned 31 years old. Yes that person is me. I am the Birthday Girl today. So now I am going to be corny.......

HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!! No one else has said it to me yet so I have been saying it to myself. So far it hasn't been to bad of a day. We will see what comes later.

Any ways I am finally going to see my midwife today and see how we are doing and to see exactly how far along we are. I will post that later.

Here's some more exciting news Brian starts his flying lessons probably this week. He is so excited. He really likes his flight instructor which is good. We will also post that at a later time on how he is doing.

Is anyone else ready for spring? And for winter to be done and gone. I am so past winter let's move on to warmer weather.

Come on Spring!!!

Playing Airplane

We have new form of transportation.  Its a 1965 Cessna 150 F.  One of those KSL finds.  We bought the plane in Idaho.  Brian and Merlon drove up and flew it home on Saturday.  This picture was taken with Sean Frosts cell phone @ American Falls, Idaho, where the plane was purchased.  Both of them got air sick because of the wind,  Merlon was prepared with puke bags.  Brian flew while Merlon puked and visa versa, it was very rough, plus the heater wasn't working right and it was very cold, about 10 degrees at 11,000 feet They flew from American Falls Idaho to Kanab Utah with a fuel stop in Delta in 3.5 hours.  The plane gets about 20 mpg, or 5 gallons per hour in airplane terms.  Average ground speed was 110 mph.

Brian will be starting flight training next week in St. George.  His goal is to have is license by July 4th.

Pine Wood Derby

Once a year the Cub Scouts do a Pine Wood Derby. It is were they get to build a car and paint it all nice and race against he boys in there Pack. We had ours last Thursday night. Kendal and all the boys have so much fun doing this. This is Kendal's 2nd year doing this and absolutely loves it. This year Kendal won. So next month we get to go to Kanab and race against those boys over there. We shall see how he does.
Brian was happy that Kendal won. Not to sure about Kendal. I think he just wanted to eat and watch the movie they had playing for the younger kids. He may have been a little excited but he didn't show it much.

We will let you know how it goes next month. Sorry that there are no pictures but my camera is dead and I can't get them posted on here with our new system.

Until next time.

More info???

Updates on the doings of this past month so far........

We found out that we are expecting baby #6 sometime in September or some where around there.

Brian was offered a job in St. George at another Tranny shop. He does still does his own thing when he is home. This was a blessing. It came at the right time.

Brian finished his suburban. It is great to have a vehicle big enough for all of us to travel in. And just to have a vehicle to get around in for me when he is gone. Thank you babe.

Our Uncle Gene passed away from poor health. But probably mostly from kidney failure. He will be missed.

The Scouts had there 100th Birthday. Celebrated at a Blue and Gold Banquet dinner. Kendal really enjoys scouts. He and his daddy are about to build him another Pine wood derby car for next month.

Here is the funnest thing that Brian and I did this month. Our Stake puts on an annual Sweet Hearts Ball every February for Valentine's. It is fun to go to. Great food, company, dancing, and entertainment. Thanks again Brian for taking me out to that. It was great to get out of the house and away from the kids for a short time.

Brian also had a Daddy daughter date with his 3 girls. They all had fun and ate lots of junk food and of course the girls each got to dance with there daddy. The girls love this time with their daddy. The girls even get to dress up like little princesses. I helped last year with the first one and it was fun and great to see all the daddy's, grandpas, friends with their pretty little girls.

I think that is all that has happened this month for now. Well besides the snow we keep getting here and there.
I am so ready for spring. I any one else ready for it?

News!! What could it be?

We have some good news to share with all of you out there. I am sure that there isn't that many that get on but that is there problem. I am not going to make you guess or play a game with you about what the good news is. So here it goes......

We as a family are expecting another addition to our family. Yes you guessed it we are expecting baby #6 around September.  It will be another home birth. No we aren't going to find out what it is either. SO don't ask. We never really have found out with any of our babes.

So there is that news for ya.

Now time for me to do a little bragging on my husband. He is such a sweetie. I enjoy being with him whenever I can. Tonight I get that chance. Yeah for me. He is such a good hard working loving man. He does every thing he can for whom ever he can. A lot of it is for his family. He loves being with his kids and wife. He doesn't get much time to spend with us but when he can it is fun or just relaxing. This man has done a lot of changing. I see it in him everyday. It is a good change. And I love it too.

Every second of almost every day he his working his little hinny off for his family. Here is why he is always working so hard for his family........ Trying to get the house paid off so we can still have a home to live in, food on the table, to do fun things altogether, and just to have some $ around just in case of an emergency. He is truly a great man. And I am glad to have him as my husband and my best friend too.

Brian thanks for all you do for us and for others. I LOVE YOU TONS AND BUNCHES!!!!!!! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Always and forever babe!

Happy False Valentines Day

I personally want every body who reads this blog to know that my wife is the greatest woman on the planet.  She is super mom.  And super wife also.  She fixes me dinner every night, and its always home made, she heats up my lunch most days when she is not to busy with the homeschool crew.  She fixes a good homemade breakfast every day for the monkeys and if there is any left then I usually get to eat some.  Plus she has had all 5 of her kids completley natural and 4 of them at home, that takes some guts, especially with all your family telling you your going to die if you don't have a doctor at your side, way to trust in God Hillary!!!    Although she can't bake bread, its no big deal we can still buy bread and when thats gone away we'll deal with it.

Thank you so much Hillary for decorating my life with 5 absolutley flawless kids as far as kids go.  I don't want to exalt them up to a very high status because I know that somebody is in the sugar, somebody is standing there with the fridge open with a blank stare wondering what they were doing, somebody is peeing on the bathroom floor, and somebody is making out with the french doors, while the other somebody is cluttering up her room with  newly washed clothes that she just can't figure out what to wear.

This song is for you and I love you and I'm so glad we have made it this far, and thank you for agreeing to have another baby, I know that God loves you and that you are a very righteous and precious daughter in His sight.  Any how enjoy the song and have a nice day.  Your beautiful......

Anyhow it won't let me post the link to the song, its called "you decorated my life"  By Kenny Rogers....I suppose you can go to you tube and watch it.

Happy 8th Birrthday

Phelele turned 8yrs. old January 31st. I can't believe how fast time flies.

Here are 8 things we enjoy and love about our Princess Phelele......

1. smart girl
2. big helper
3. very pretty
4. loves to dance
5. loves to read (almost all the time)
6. plays great with siblings and friends
7. tends to her little brother
last but not least..
8. she is the 2nd mommy of our home (cute at times)
but there are so many other things that I could say about her, but I will leave it at that for now.

Here a a couple of pictures from her special day...... O Kay maybe not. We had a problem with our computer, but got it fixed by our friend she put a new system on. So it maybe a while til I can figure out how to load pictures on here.

Hopefully soon we can post some. So stay tuned.

Mark Wills

I love listening to Country Music. I listen to it every day. There are some good ones out there. But yesterday they played one of Mark Wills's songs called "Don't Laugh At Me". It is a really good song. It has a good message to it too.
I think we all need to listen to it and take it to heart of what it means and what he is saying. Especially these days with young kids being bullied over stupid little things. It should never matter how the other person looks, acts, or just what ever. It is wrong that this type of thing goes on and we just don't ever see it or want to hear it or believe it is happening right under our noses.

When I heard that song I had a major flash back. It was back to when I was in Elementary School in Henderson, Nevada. I don't quite remember what grade but I was Elementary aged. Any ways there was this boy named Adam. He was a friend of my younger brother. They didn't do much but they were good friends. The kid really needed one too. He didn't talk much either, he was extremely shy.

One day at recess we were all out playing. I happened to look down in Adams direction for some reason. I saw 3 girls standing there teasing him for no reason. It made me mad, so I immediately went to him and helped him out of his situation. I don't remember what I said or what the girls might have said or did, but it felt good to help him out. I believe what they were doing was wrong. They were teasing him because he was really shy.

That to me is just wrong. And it is still wrong this very day. We need to watch over our kids and talk to them about these types of things. Find out if they are having something like this done to them.

If any of you would have known me back then, that type of thing is not normal for me. I to was shy. But someone had to stand up to those girls and help him. I am sure that he never said anything to me about it or said thanks but that is o Kay.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVjbo8dW9c8

This song really does have a good message. Well at least it does to me. I hope you all listen to it. And pass it on to however. I hope that it gets out to at least a few people.

 Thanks for reading.

OOPPSS!!!!

The post I just posted I put on backwards so if you like you can start from the bottom and work your way up. Enjoy!!!!

Happy Day!!!!!

I know this post may be a day late but that o Kay. Yesterday (January 15th) was Acee's 4th Birthday. She was so darn excited about it. I talked to her about it 2 days before so that I could figure out what to make for Breakfast, dinner, and last but not least her cake. I try to make my kids's and of my husbands day as special as I can. This is kind of what my mom and dad would do for us when we were younger. I liked it. Her special day turned out good. We had a couple of her friends come and share the yumminess with us.

So here are some pictures of her fun and special day......

Here is Acee after opening some presents from her friends. She was so cute and went and handed the stuff to our friend Autumn. Brian was taking pictures and didn't get one of her actually opening them. Oh well!!! She got some fun things. Her friends gave her barbie princess cats, little princess notebooks, princess twistable crayons (4), ans of course a fun little princess coloring and activity book; from us she got a My little pony book, a scooby doo book, a card, and a erasable leap frog counting work book. These books are great for little ones, especially when they are erasable. And her sisters drew her some pictures.

Here is Acee with her 2 friends Eva and Angela Rose and of course I was in it too. Lovely me. Thanks Brian! Poor little Eva wasn't feeling good but she came along and tough it out pretty good. The girls like to play dress up when they come over, that's why they are all in dresses.

Here is another picture of the girls but Phelele got in on it and hiding Acee a little.

Here is a better picture of all the kids. They are all admiring Acee's presents she got. She sure likes them. Especially the barbie princess cats and the card she got from her grandma and grandpa. She was so attached to that card she wouldn't let any one read it to her or just see it. She did not like that idea much.

Here is the yummy master piece I made for her with my own 2 hands. No this is not a box cake mix. Yes I do make my own from scratch. That is a yellow cake with whip cream frosting, coconut, and strawberries. It was so yummy. The cake was still hot so it started to melt the whip cream, but it was still a hit.

Little Acee cheesing for the picture. What a little cutie she is.

Does she look tired or what? But don't let her fool you shes really not. We were all singing to her and she got a little embarrassed so she decided to hide her self.

This is the picture I should of started with but didn't of course. Acee is enjoying her hot cocoa pancakes her mommy made and decided she was going to be a little cheesy with her smile. Such a big girl. I can't believe that it has been 4 years since she joined our family. We enjoy her so much. She still has her daddy wrapped around her little fingers. She is and always will be her daddy's little girl. Yes daddy is attached to this one.

Happy 4th Birthday Acee!!! Many more birthdays to come.

Sorry that i did this all backwards. I will do better next time. Phelele's 8th Birthday is in 2 weeks or something like that. They all grow up so fast.
